Ballot Lantern · See the record. Make your choice.
A calmer way to explore your ballot
Ballot Lantern is an independent guide to covered candidates and ballot questions for Virginia’s November 3, 2026 election. It brings cited evidence together so you can compare it, make your own choices and create a printable personal guide.
What you can do
- Match an address using public geography files in your browser, then confirm the covered districts.
- Choose topics that matter to you and compare candidates side by side. Party labels and photographs are hidden until you choose to show them.
- Explore cited votes, attributed campaign positions, funding explanations and accountability timelines.
- Read ballot-question explanations tailored to your selected priorities, then print or download your personal guide.
Coverage and evidence
This is a partial-coverage pilot, not an official ballot or a voter-registration service. It does not cover every race or question. Unknown information stays labeled unknown. Sources have original retrieval and reporting dates; a later review does not make an older reporting period current.
Open “Sources & coverage” in the guide for dated evidence, archives and unresolved access limitations. Campaign quotations are attributed statements, not independent verification of the claims they contain.
Confirm your complete ballot, registration, polling place and election deadlines with Virginia ELECT.
Your session is temporary
No account is required. Entered addresses are matched locally in your browser and are never sent to an external geocoder. Addresses, priorities and ballot choices are not placed in share links or saved in persistent browser storage. Clear session removes your current selections; leaving the application clears the temporary session.
A guide you choose to download or print is your own copy. Hosting providers receive ordinary connection information such as an IP address and requested public files. Provider log retention remains unverified. Search-engine verification does not add visitor-tracking scripts.
Try it before entering an address
The Arlington demonstration uses a public example location and sample priorities, with covered real election material. It does not establish anyone’s registration or complete ballot. The separate fictional demonstration uses invented examples and is not election guidance.
